Road Trip from Bangalore to Tirupathi:

Road Trip from Bangalore to Tirupathi:

Bangalore to Tirumala (Hill top of Venkateshwara Swamy temple) is 275 KM and takes around 5 hours with safe driving and leisure halts. Reach KRPuram and travel towards Kolar through Hosakote. After Kolar you will find Woods Restaurant and few km from there you will find Café Day on the right side. After Kolar, next town will be mulbagal which has a bypass road, follow the bypass to avoid the town. Road upto Mulbal is under construction and you will find lot of diversions. Start early to avoid Bangalore traffic and the traffic upto Mulbagal. After Mulbagal road is well maintained. From here to Chittor takes around 1.5 hrs and will hit ghat section for 10 kms in between. Before entering chittor take the bypass towards Tirupathi, this would avoid the city. After the bypass you will reach NH18. Follow NH18 till Puttalapatu, after crossing puttalapatu check for the junction to tirupathi. Follow Tirupathi road which is on the right side and is around 60 KM. After crossing around 40-50 KM check for Chandragiri road, this road will avoid Tirupathi road and will save approximately 30 km and 45 Min of time. After crossing Chandragiri follow the sign boards for Tirumala, if you miss that you will again hit Tirupathi town. You will reach Alipiri the starting point of Tirumala Ghat Section.

At Alipiri you will have to go through Security check and pay the toll fee. Way to hill top is one way so you will not find any opposite traffic except for maintenance or service vehicles.

Accomadation at tirupathi can be booked through TTD office which is on the right side after crossing the Bus Station. You can get variety of Cottages and rates are as defined by TTD.

For Kalyanam or any Sevas you can book the tickets at Vijaya Bank counters. Kalyanam tickets are available only for the next day.

Both North India and South India food is available as per your tastes. I did not find the hotels clean and did not see any difference in eating on the road side small hotels or big hotels like Annapurana.

Dharshan time in tirumala is a minimum of 1 hr to 12 hr or more depending on the day and the purchasing power or recommendation you have.
